What is Included in the trip?

Discover Corps trips include:

• Most meals (some free meals may be included in the itinerary)
• A curated selection of boutique hotels (hotels may vary in more remote locales. All published rates are double occupancy, additional charges will be required for single occupancy rooms.)
• An active schedule of daily cultural activities and purposeful experiences
• A local guide who is by your side the entire trip
• All transportation in-country including airport transfers
• Medical Insurance/ Medical Evacuation Insurance
• Access to a Travel Specialist throughout your trip planning and preparation

What’s not included in the trip itself?

Discover Corps trips include everything on the ground. Here is a list of what is not included:

• International Airfare* – For your flights to and from the destination, our travel partner can book flights on your behalf and are aware of our flight arrival and departure windows and your My Milestone Reward Voucher works with them too. Feel free to contact them via this link for quotes. Alternatively, you can book your own travel and utilize rewards points or travel credit. More information will be provided through the Discover Corps Travel Portal after booking.
• Any applicable Visas* – For visas, Discover Corps works with providers that can help you arrange visas to destinations that require them. Click here to learn more.
• Travel insurance – Note that the portion of the trip purchased with a voucher cannot be insured
• Internal flight supplements* – in certain destinations that have internal domestic flights
• Guide and driver gratuity
• Some meals throughout the itineraries

 

*The provided voucher value can be used towards these items.

Are there any additional costs beyond what the voucher covers? How does payment work if the voucher doesn't cover the entire cost?

Your voucher will be the first payment applied to the trip upon booking. If there is a remaining balance between the total trip fee and what the voucher covers, this must be paid for by either debit or credit card (we take Visa and MasterCard). This will be due 30 days after booking for the trip, or 60 days prior to departure, whichever comes first.

What is the cancellation policy for trips booked with vouchers? Can I make changes to my booking, such as changing dates or destinations?

The amount of your refund to your voucher is based on how far in advance from the start date of the trip you notify us of your cancellation.

• More than five months prior, everything is refundable!
• Less than five months prior, 75% of the trip fee is refundable, except a non-refundable $30 booking fee. There is no fee to change trip destination or start date.
• Less than four months prior, 50% of the trip fee is refundable, except a non-refundable $30 booking fee. There is a $100 fee to change trip destination or start date.
• Less than three months prior, 25% of the trip fee is refundable, except a non-refundable $30 booking fee. There is a $395 fee to change the trip destination or start date.
• Less than two months prior, the the trip fee is non-refundable.  Changes to trip destination or start date are not possible and will be subject to the refund policy above.

If the balance has not been paid in full, the above percentages apply to all monies paid at the date of cancellation.

Transfers will be charged the applicable fee to change trips. Additionally, your refund policy tier will carry over to your new trip (e.g. – for transfers less than three months prior to the trip, your new trip fee will remain 25% refundable regardless of the new date).

Important: For any refunds, you will be paid back first on your personal form of payment up to the amount that you originally paid on this. If applicable, the remainder will go back to your original voucher code with 1 year validity from the date of refund.

How do I find out the remaining balance on my voucher?

Your voucher balance will be tracked by Discover Corps. Upon registering for a trip, Discover Corps will send a welcome email that will note your remaining balance. If you ever need to check on your voucher balance, email your Travel Specialist at pwc@discovercorps.com or give us a call at 619-878-3686!

Can I invite my friends and family to join a My Milestone Rewards trip?

Yes! Anyone is welcome to join a My Milestone Rewards trip. For families traveling with children, we typically have a minimum age requirement of 6 years old. However, we can be flexible in most destinations so please contact us! We also offer exclusive discounts for PwC employees including half off for kids 16 and younger and 20% off for all other plus one(s) joining a trip with a My Milestone Rewards voucher holder! These discounts are reflected in the pricing on the portal and linked booking pages (Note: you must book through this portal to receive the discounted pricing!).

Tell me more about the Friends & Family Discount for My Milestone Rewards members!

Of course! We are proud to offer all PwC My Milestone Rewards recipients an exclusive Friends & Family Discount. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to invite family and friends to share in this unforgettable experience!

Here’s how it works:
• All children 16 years old and younger at the time of travel qualify for half off the adult price on all PwC My Milestone Rewards trips
• Any other plus-one(s) will travel at a 20% discount

Travel companions must join the trip with the PwC My Milestone Rewards recipient. This cannot be combined with other discounts and is only valid on PwC My Milestone Rewards trips with Discover Corps. This offer does not apply to any supplements or post-trip extensions. Published rates on the portal reflect these discounted rates.

I've booked my trip and have money left on my voucher. What can I use this for?

If you have money left on your voucher after purchasing your Discover Corps trip, this can be used for the following add-ons and services:

• Additional travelers (i.e. – partners, children, etc. at discounted rates)
• Post-Trip Extensions
• Flight to/from your destination (when booked through our partners at Wings Travel)
• Post-Departure Travel Insurance incl. trip delay & baggage delay benefits through our partners at Arch RoamRight (note that the portion of your trip purchased with a voucher cannot be insured)
• Visas with our partners at G3 Visas & Passports

 

All purchases with third party partners (Wings Travel, Arch RoamRight & G3 Visas) will need to be made with your personal credit or debit card. You will then need to fill out a Reimbursement Form to initiate a refund by check for any voucher credit that applies to purchase.

Please note there are no cash refunds for unused vouchers balances.

I want to book a trip, but have not yet received my Milestone Reward. Is this possible?

Yes! Discover Corps welcomes all prospective PwC My Milestone Rewards recipients. In fact, it is advised to start planning for your trip as early as possible to ensure you hold your spot and begin arranging travel.

You can simply book your trip now with a $365 deposit and $30 registration fee (per person) via the portal.* The remainder of the balance is then due 30 days after registration or 60 days prior to departure, whichever comes first (payment plans are also available upon request). Once you receive your My Milestone Rewards voucher, we will refund you the out of pocket amount paid that should be covered by your voucher value, as applicable. This could be anytime before the trip or even after your return from the trip.

*You will not be asked to submit a deposit when registering online as the system assumes you will be using a voucher. A Travel Specialist will reach out by phone after you complete your online registration to complete the deposit.

I've chosen the Purpose Experience but will be leaving the firm. What should I do?

No problem. We will just need to update your email address so that it reflects your personal email. Please send us your personal email to pwc@discovercorps.com and we will update your record accordingly! All future communication with Discover Corps will be conducted through this email so that you do not miss any important updates.

You will also continue to be eligible for plus one and child discounts as long as you are using your Milestone Rewards voucher.

How do flights work? What about travel insurance?

The Discover Corps trip fee does not include international airfare to and from the destination. After registering for your trip, your Travel Coordinator will outline the arrival and departure airports and windows for the destination. This is typically a timeframe on the first and last days of the trip. You can then book your flights independently (ie – using miles) or contact our partners at Wings Travel (your remaining voucher amount can be used for flights booked through Wings!).

Travel insurance is optional and will not cover any portion of the trip that is purchased with a voucher. However, any portion that is purchased with your own funds can be insured. Your Travel Coordinator will be by your side to help you navigate this.

What are the benefits of using Wings Travel for flights to/from destination versus booking with the airlines directly?

Wings Travel is Discover Corps’ preferred flight agency. Additionally, remaining credit on your voucher can be used on flights through Wings!

We recommend that you do your own research into fares as well as get a quote through Wings. There are some key benefits in booking through Wings:

• The staff at Wings know all of our arrival and departure windows and will ensure that you book flights that work with each itinerary.
• The Wings team provides 24 hour support for any flight cancellations or delays. They will help you navigate the rebooking process and ensure that you get on your way.
• The Wings team will ensure that you have adequate time for flight connections reducing the risk of missing your flight
• The Wings team can help arrange pre- or post-trip accommodation if you decide to arrive early or stay longer

What is the Discover Corps Travel Portal?

Upon booking your trip, you will be granted access to the Discover Corps Travel Portal. This houses all of the pre-departure trip details for your destination providing you with an in-depth overview on how to plan for your trip. It will be your “go-to” resource and contains information you should know about trip preparations.

Who travels with Discover Corps?

Our trips are for adults 18 years or older and families with children at least 6 years old (we can be flexible with this age minimum in many destinations – just contact us directly to learn more). Our groups include a wide range of ages, demographics and backgrounds from age 6 to 70 years +. Generally, we see that our travelers share a similar mindset of curiosity and interest in doing good in the world. Will I be traveling with a group of other PwC employees? What are the group size and dynamics like?

It is possible that you will be traveling with fellow PwC employees though each trip is open to the public. The minimum number of travelers required to confirm a trip is usually four and the maximum number there will be in each group is sixteen. If a trip does not a meet a minimum, our team will work with you to select another date or trip that has. The group demographic ranges from solo travelers and couples, to retirees and multi-generational families. 

I am ready to select a trip, what's the next step?

To book your Discover Corps trip, access the travel voucher provided by PwC. Book your selected trip and input the voucher code upon checkout. Once the booking is complete, you will receive a confirmation by email introducing you to the Discover Corps Travel Portal and your dedicated Travel Specialist. Once your trip is guaranteed to run (the minimum number of travelers has been met), your Travel Specialist will provide you with confirmation that you can book your airfare.

Can I customize my trip or add a post-trip extension?

Yes, we offer post- trip extensions for many destinations. This can be a great way to experience another part of the country or region. Think Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Zanzibar Island in Tanzania, the Amazon Rainforest in Peru or the bustling Thai city of Bangkok. Upon booking, select the extension you’d like to reserve. Post-trip extensions are based on availability.

What kind of accommodations can I expect to stay in?

Nearly all of our itineraries include a portfolio of boutique hotels, most in the 4-5 star range. Certain, more remote locales may vary with 3-star levels of accommodation – please see the individual itineraries for more information. Published trip fees are for double occupancy rooming (shared with a travel companion or we will place you with someone of the same gender). Single room supplements are available at an additional charge for each trip. 

Are all diets accommodated?

We can accommodate any dietary requests such as vegetarian, vegan, and lactose- free. We can also accommodate any severe allergy restrictions and can match you to a specific destination based on your dietary needs. Upon registration, we will have you complete a pre-departure waiver where you can elaborate on any allergies or preferences prior to travel. 

Are vaccines required for travel?

Currently, Kenya is the only country that requires the Yellow Fever Vaccine to enter. Once you book, your dedicated Travel Specialist will guide you through the pre-departure process offering important requirements and reminders. You can also locate these important travel requirements via the Travel Portal.

What is Discover Corps policy in terms of health and safety?

Discover Corps prioritizes the health and safety all of our travelers. We employ resident, knowledgeable guides with extensive experience in the locales we visit and who understand the customs and local social and political climate.  We vet the accommodations and organizations we work with to help support safety and quality control. In all destinations, we will have access to medical personnel within a 45 minute radius. En route to a destination, we offer a 24-hour emergency line to facilitate streamlined communication should any issues arise during travel.
